ABOUT
Story
Stapf clothing has been meticulously crafted in Wörgl, Austria since 1958. A few years ago, as the brand teetered on the edge of bankruptcy, the environmental-enthusiast couple Kathrin and Sebastian took over with the mission to preserve the label and its original manufacturing legacy. They achieved this by upgrading the quality of raw materials, redefining the production model, and revitalizing the collections. With a longstanding tradition as a family-run business, they remain dedicated to Stapf’s fundamental value: never compromising on quality.
Naturally Sustainable
Stapf’s collections embody a commitment to natural sustainability. Their collections are crafted from GOTS-certified organic cotton and the most eco-friendly, mulesing-free wool available. All-natural yarns are meticulously sourced from family-owned suppliers in Austria and Italy, with no reliance on synthetic alternatives. The buttons are thoughtfully crafted without the use of plastic, instead employing materials like wood, horn, metal, or even repurposed coffee grounds. By prioritizing organic fibres and avoiding artificial components, Stapf contributes to a more harmonious relationship between fashion and the planet.
Superior Craftsmanship
Walk, a wool fabric knitted and boiled, attains its superior quality when crafted with precision, a skill mastered exclusively in Tyrol, Austria. It combines remarkable flexibility with durability, effective thermo-regulation, and even a degree of weather resistance. Stapf has honed this process to perfection, resulting in timeless garments that are built to last a lifetime.
Born and raised in Europe
Stapf sources their all-natural yarns from family businesses in Austria and Italy, which are then spun and dyed without any extra dyes or plasticizers. The yarn is knitted and milled on circular and flat knitting machines at Stapf’s headquarters in Tyrol. Next, the sewing of the garments takes place exclusively within Europe, in Slovakia, Romania, the Czech Republic and Ukraine. Finally, the finished products are washed using water sourced directly from the pristine Austrian Alps, paired with sustainable energy, all in-house in Wörgl. This process ensures that every step of production aligns with the brand’s dedication to sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.
